This is a broad area of disciplines and opportunities. It includes multinational communications and technology companies as well as the social networking industry. Generally there is not a great demand for geoscientists in this category but some of these companies are hiring geoscientists to provide strategic and tactical information on energy and natural resources. There are also a number of government jobs available in this category.

Natural Resources Coordinator

Many companies that deal with natural resource information and/or investment are hiring geoscientists to advise them on energy programs, mining, environment, ESG, etc. Although most of these jobs are with educational institutions and government there is growing opportunities for NRCs in multination communications, technical and investment companies. Great networking and communication skills are required.

Educational Requirements:

  • BS/BA-MS Geoscience

Experience and Expertise:

  • Broad geologic expertise
  • Basic understand of geophysical information
  • Must be well-versed in data related to natural resources
  • Technical skills in research management (5+yrs)
